What Members Want: 2025 BOMA Omaha Program Survey Results

📌 Top Topics of Interest:
Members are most interested in Life Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness (64%), followed by HVAC Optimization and Indoor Air Quality (50%), Energy Star Benchmarking (43%), and Codes and Permits (43%). Other top picks include Capital Planning and Budgeting and Local
Case Studies.
📍 Preferred Format:
Half of respondents prefer in-person programs in Midtown, while 43 percent like Downtown Omaha. Only a few requested hybrid options, confirming that in-person networking remains key.
⏰ Best Time:
The clear favorite is 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., chosen by more than 70 percent of respondents.
⏳ Ideal Session Length:
Most members favor a 60-minute session, with another third preferring 45 minutes, perfect for a focused lunch-and-learn format.
🎯 What Drives Attendance?
The biggest motivators are building and site tours (57%), networking time (50%), and quality food options (36%), proving that learning and connection go hand in hand.
💲 Lunch Cost?
Nearly 80 percent said lunch cost is not a deciding factor in attending events.
💡 How to Boost Attendance?
Members suggested more networking, interesting and high-profile speakers, building tours, and varied formats such as breakfast or happy hour events. A few also asked for improved menus with gluten-free options.
🎤 Speaker and Topic Ideas:
Suggestions include a BOMA Business Fair or Trade Show, updates on green tax incentives and OPPD rebates, life safety sessions, and more building tours.
